What MenuPick Does

MenuPick is a tool for travelers. Take a photo of a restaurant menu in any language and the app returns one recommended dish, including the local-language name and an English translation. No accounts, no setup, no clutter.

How to Use the App

• Open the app and tap the camera button.
• Take a photo of the menu, or choose one from your photo library.
• Optionally enter the restaurant name to improve accuracy.
• Tap Recommend. Your dish appears in seconds.

Permissions

• Camera — used only to photograph menus. Photos are sent to OpenAI for analysis and are not stored by MenuPick.
• Photo Library — used only to select menu images. Same data handling as above.

MenuPick does not collect personal data, require an account, or retain your photos.

Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 22, 2026

Data we collect: MenuPick does not collect personal information. We do not require an account, and we do not store your name, email, location, or any identifier.

Menu images: Photos you submit are transmitted over HTTPS to the OpenAI API solely to generate a dish recommendation for your current session. MenuPick does not store, log, or retain these images after the response is returned.

Third-party processing — OpenAI: Image data is processed by OpenAI, L.L.C. OpenAI operates under its own privacy policy and data retention practices, which you can review at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. MenuPick does not control OpenAI's data handling beyond the constraints of OpenAI's API terms.

Children: MenuPick is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security: All data transmitted between the app and our servers, and between our servers and OpenAI, is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS.

Your rights: Because MenuPick does not collect or store personal data, there is no user profile to access or delete. If you believe data about you has been retained in error, contact us at philipchen32@gmail.com and we will investigate and respond within 7 days.

Changes to this policy: If we update this privacy policy, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Troubleshooting

• No recommendation returned — We couldn't read the menu from this image. Upload a clear photo of the menu text.
• Wrong language / inaccurate result — Results depend on image clarity and OpenAI's understanding of the cuisine. Try including the restaurant name for better context.
• App is slow to respond — MenuPick requires an internet connection. Check your connection and try again.
• Crash or unexpected error — Force-quit the app and reopen it. If the problem persists, contact support below.
